Welcome to the NUBC website. We are  a sporting and social club primarily for students of Newcastle Uni.

Looking for a fun, low cost way to get fit? The Newcastle University Boat Club has the solution – start rowing!

Rowing is a popular sport at university – a great way to meet people, get some exercise and enjoy the great outdoors. NUBC caters to all levels of skill and interest. Whether you’re an experienced rower or have never been in a boat before, we’d love to have you!

We hold our squad training on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. We meet at our Berry Park shed (see here for directions) at 6am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 7am on Saturdays.

If you’re interested in competitive rowing, we regularly race in local regattas and look forward to taking another team to the 2017 Australian University Games. We also host social events throughout the year.

So, whether you’ve been rowing for years or don’t even know what a rowing boat looks like, shoot us an email at secretary@nubc.info or check us out on Facebook.

The Newcastle University Boat Club is both a sporting and social club.

We attend more than 10 regattas every year, including the Australian University Games. We have a range of boats to suit all abilities, and aim to provide coaching to everyone.

During the year we have many social events, including a Trivia night and a formal End of Year Dinner held in November.

We row on the Hunter River at Berry Park (near Maitland). It is a half  hour drive to the Club from the University.
