We will be holding a BBQ and oar painting session afterwards, and require everyone’s attendance to allow the job to be done as quickly as possible!
Phew, nearly Christmas already! A lot has been happening for the boat club, to catch up on the latest news have a browse through our December newsletter.
The newsletter is full of updates about our achievements at recent regattas, including how well we went at the NSW Sprint Championships last weekend! It also has some pictures from our recent social events and an overview of what the club is up to in this busy pre-Christmas period.

This is just a quick follow-up email after our 50th Anniversary Celebrations.
We would like to thank everyone again for celebrating this milestone with us. We had a fantastic night, and hope that all our alumni enjoyed it as much as we did.

Places are filling for our 50th anniversary dinner. To secure your place please ensure that you submit a formal RSVP by August 5th – which is this Friday!

If you are coming to the Dinner, you need to RSVP:
By sending an email to 50th_anniversary@nubc.info. Please include your phone number, names of all guests and dietary requirements if you are RSVP-ing via email.
It is really important we receive your FORMAL RSVP (form or email), as we need them to allocate you a seat and a meal. Facebook RSVPs will not be counted.
Payment
When you have RSVP-ed, please take the time to submit your payment for the dinner.
Booklet Contributions
We have been enjoying the fun and interesting recollections from members’ contributions for our booklet. The closing date for contributions August 13th, so please submit any writing and photos before this date!
NUBC is compiling a booklet documenting the Club’s history, which we will be giving out at our 50th Anniversary Dinner.
We are seeking submissions from anyone who has been involved with the club.
We have received some great submissions, however we are still looking for more to fill the booklet. In particular we are lacking stories from the years 1980 – 2000. If you rowed with the club during these years, we would love for you to send us your memories so we can create the most comprehensive booklet possible.
What we are after:
- Any length, from a short paragraph to an essay!
- Personal and/or historical recollections (essentially write about whatever you wish, to do with NUBC!)
- Photos if you have any
- Records of awards and achievements (we are really lacking in these!)

As you may have been aware, NUBC will also be hosting an Open Shed on the afternoon of August 27 (the day of the 50th Dinner) from 1 – 4 pm. This event will include a boat naming ceremony, where a number of boats from our fleet will be named after past members who have given outstanding contributions to the NUBC. The event will also be an opportunity to see our current facilities and fleet, have a relaxing row and have a casual afternoon tea with other members.

DON’T FORGET 50th Anniversary Booklet Contributions: We are currently compiling a booklet of written and pictorial memories from NUBC history. This booklet will be given out on the night of the dinner. We are looking for any past or present NUBC members with a special memory/personal anecdote/photo they would like to share to submit them to 50th_anniversary@nubc.info.
Dinner RSVPs: RSVPs for our 50th Anniversary Dinner are due by 5th August. Please fill in an online RSVP form at our website (nubc.info) or email us to confirm your RSVP.
